Critic Reviews

Echo Audiofire 12

soundonsound.com

Echo's Audiofire 12 impresses with its excellent sound quality and abundant analogue I/O, making it a top contender for recording enthusiasts. While it lacks any digital audio I/O, its pristine audio performance and versatile monitor mixer are standout features. The presence of unusually high ultrasonic noise and limited WDM driver support are minor drawbacks, but for those who prioritize analogue capabilities, it's a compelling choice.

Crisp sound with no flaws

One of the purest FireWire interfaces. Echo has left the prosumer market, anyway releasing once a while some drivers for new OSs in a world where a 5-year piece of gear is good for a Jurassic Park... Nice ADCs (even tweakable) super-linear. A must to interface an analog mixing console with 8 buses and still with some free inputs for masters and some other stuff.
