I personally have the 4th gen solo, so its not the greatest ever, but its still a Focusrite, and its pretty nice in my opinion

Travel Friendly

For Home Recording:

I plug my XLR Condenser Mic and Acoustic Guitar here and the preamp is great. The light indicators help me check if I am peaking or not. the Direct Monitoring function is really helpful. sadly, there's only one knob for Monitor and Audio Volume.

For Live:

I use MobiusLooper by Circular Labs hosted in FL Studio, and to plug my guitar and loop mic, I use this little baby. It sounds awesome in live. My guitar sounds uncolored. :)

OVERALL:

I highly recommend this for musicians who wanna start home recording but want to test the waters first. :)

Easy to use.

It's a good and easy to use audio interface. It's good for making demos and simple recordings on the fly. Just plug it in and record whatever it is that comes to mind. Also great to bring with your laptop if you know that you might want to record something while you're out and about.

Decent but go 2i2 or higher.

I bought this due to the minor cost difference between the Solo and 2i2, and I've gotta say, very impressed minus some VERY minor stability issues.

I'd recommend getting the 2i2 or higher though as the port ins and outs are very low and the rca out is horrible. I'd also recommend the clarett series if you want to spend more.

The screamer

cool sound and the main issue I dont like is to plugin/out to use different audio gizmos like monitors, headphones or wathever. Beyond that is extremely powerfull and a cleaner sound. A must have I guess

Heard it was good, but mine broke

I've heard it given glowing reviews, and I know millions use it, including people I know, but unfortunately mine broke, and I had not the patience to get it fixed, so I sent it back. Still got some nice free stuff with it, so it can have two stars.

Sounds great, issues with AMD processor

I love my Solo. It's light, sounds great, and has the inputs and outputs I need on the go. My only issue is hooking up to my AMD CPU. The unit only works through USB 3.0 ports. Seems like a driver issue, but Focusrite haven't address it directly yet.

Really simple little thing.

This thing is great for a beginner's studio but be warned, only one stereo output and only one mono line in, and one XLR input. Great pre-amps for guitar and synths. Comes with a few decent plugins like novation bass station so you can get started making music right away!

Cool to have...

... but basically useless. It comes with a lot of free software, even Ableton Live Lite, a couple of plugins and a gig of Loopmasters samples and whatnot. Installation was fairly simple, and when I get a mic someday it'll be a lot easier to commentate at gigs and sing vocals in my productions. It was basically meaningless as a cue, because my controller already came with a cue. I would still highly recommend this piece of equipment simply because every DJ/producer needs an interface.

if you don't have an interface... get it.

this thang is amazing, I can plug my mic, guitars, and headphones into it and no noise/static comes out of it B)
