Description
Closed-back, circumaural professional headphones.
Accurate monitoring is a crucial feature in any studio environment, and a good pair of reference headphones is a must. Spirit Professional headphones have been specifically designed to meet the expectations and requirements of Recording Studios, Home Studios and Broadcasting Studios, and extreme care and detail went into the creation of the Mylar - Titanium alloy transducer, which combines rigidity, lightness and high damping properties to preserve the dynamics of the audio signal and to provide remarkably neutral sound without any distortion. The highly accurate reproduction of bass frequencies will reveal the smallest defects in the mix, while avoiding acoustic constraints of the workspace. Spirit Professional offers excellent acoustic insulation to address the constraints of the often-noisy environments specific to Broadcasting and Home Studios.
Spirit Professional headphones were created to be as comfortable as possible for long, extended use by using large memory-foam ear cushions which surround the whole ear as well as spread and minimize the amount of pressure felt by the user. The textured black finish is highly shock- and scratch-resistant, a necessary quality considering how often they will be used.

Setup and maintenance
-
Proper sealing of ear cups is crucial for bass response; larger heads may struggle with this fit, potentially requiring adjustments for optimal sound.
Source
Build quality
-
The headband on these headphones can be prone to cracking if stretched, impacting the ability to achieve a proper seal and sound quality.
Source -
The textured finish on the ear cups resembles a wet look but is actually a solid, textured paint, which is more appealing in person than in photos.
Source -
Users report the headband design is aesthetically unappealing and does not conform well to the head's shape, with the plastic feeling cheap.
Source -
The dowel piece that rotates the ear cups is thin and may seem brittle if force is applied.
Source
Comparisons
-
Frequency response measurements indicate the Spirit Professional should outperform the Sennheiser Momentum in bass clarity and presence.
Source -
Compared to the AKG K550, the Focal Spirit Pro offers superior clarity and detail, though the K550 is preferred for bass strength and soundstage.
Source -
Sound quality is likened to headphones costing twice as much, but design and ergonomic issues limit their overall potential.
Source -
The Focal Spirit Pro headphones are noted for a true response in comparison to open-back models like the Beyerdynamic DT 1990 Pro.
Source
User experience
-
After initial adjustment, users report improved bass presence, highlighting an adaptation period when transitioning from speakers.
Source -
The headphones are described as on-ear due to the small ear cup space, leading to discomfort after 30 minutes of use for those with average-sized ears.
Source -
The metal headband adds weight, resulting in a lack of secure fit, especially when looking down, and the strong clamping can be tiring over time.
Source -
Users with glasses report sealing issues, affecting low-end response.
Source -
Some find the bass slightly heavy, requiring adjustment when translating mixes to monitors.
Source -
Owners with medium-sized heads report no fit issues after a year of daily use, contradicting some fitment complaints.

Speechless
I was scared they'd sound screechy and horrible the first time I put them on, based on various online reviews I read. To the contrary though, no break-in was needed (I never believed in breaking into a headphone anyway). Extremely neutral and thus reliable for eq'ing without visual feedback. I can't speak much about soundstage, since I've never tried a high-end open-back headphone before.

Excellent headphones for the studio
They are excellent headphones for the studio. They are very flat. No mid hump, no bass boost, no boost in the highs. They are very flat. They come with 2 cables, 1 for mobile phone use and another for the studio. Excellent for tracking. Absolute no sound leaks out during recordings. Excellent for mixing as well.

Great pair of cans
Excellent bass, extending way down past the audible spectrum. I trust these to hear what's happening with my sub bass. Crisp high end. Fairly flat and revealing. I can't live without these.

Trustworthy
I can trust what I hear on these headphones. Hard for things to sound "good on this." But that's the point. Clinical and flat response.

Best monitoring device I have ever owned`
The sound is punchy yet smooth, incredibly neutral and the soundstage far exceeds what I would expect from a closed headphone. They sound absolutely awesomely flat and detailed. The build quality feels good, although other customers have reported cracking headbands... I'll wait and see.
