Description

The Mateus Asato Signature El Guapo Overdrive/Distortion was developed over a 10+ prototype revision process. During this two year process every detail was painstakingly refined to ensure that both the distortion and overdrive channels would work together to recreate the soulful overdriven tones, as well as the liquid high gain tones that legendary guitarist Mateus Asato is known for!

Designed as a complete 'Marshall-in-a-box' pedal, the distortion channel of the El Guapo features a high-gain distortion circuit that perfectly recreates the detail and harmonic complexity of the legendary JCM800 amplifier, while the overdrive channel delivers the smooth overdrive and touch sensitivity of a vintage Marshall Plexi.

Keep reading to learn more about the El Guapo and why it is easily the most powerful and comprehensive 'Marshall-in-a-box' ever created!

STOMPBUZZ ALERT! Jackson Audio El Guapo Programmable Distortion | Delicious Audio

delicious-audio.com

The Jackson Audio El Guapo is a powerhouse of tonal versatility, blending a high-gain distortion reminiscent of the Marshall JCM800 with a vintage-inspired overdrive. Its programmable features allow for seamless transitions between four clipping presets, ensuring a broad range of sounds from classic rock to modern high gain. However, while its MIDI compatibility and robust EQ options are impressive, the pedal's complexity might overwhelm simpler setups. In the hands of experienced players, the El Guapo delivers articulate and musical tones, but beginners may find its extensive features daunting. Overall, it's a worthy addition to any serious guitarist's arsenal, provided they’re ready to harness its full potential.

Jackson Audio's El Guapo pedal strikes a compelling balance between soulful overdrive and high-gain distortion. Inspired by the legendary JCM800, it offers surprising versatility, appealing to both clean and heavy tones. The build quality and MIDI control are standout features, enhancing its usability for modern musicians.
