Use the spatial system as is. At present, there are three: DigiTech DigiDelay, Arion's cheap phaser (Note: SPH-1), and Eventide H9. I have always loved the DigiDelay and Arion phasers, and used the H9 as a solo modulator. By the way, Vemuram Jan Ray and Barbarossa URANUS are used in the distortion system.
TK uses this as a booster for his clean sound nowadays, replacing the MUSE.

The pedal which the Jan Ray circuit was traced back to, the Timmy is still available from the original designer at a lower price point.
$229.00 - $269.00
Another favorite within the realm of transparent overdrives.
$34.54 - $49.00
A blatant and unapologetic clone of the Vemuram Jan Ray, at a more affordable price point.
$49.00 - $62.90
The Vemuram Jan Ray is known as the "transparent overdrive," whatever that means. They retail for almost $400 in the US. Unless you're a lawyer or doctor, it'll be out of reach. Go check out the TC Electronic Spark. It's even more transparent given that it's designed as a clean booster. But, it is also a gain pedal (it's got a gain knob) with an EQ (bass, treble knobs). It'll have a lil bit of the Boss SD1 style chimeyness to it but you can dial that out using the bass knob. I could easily approx the Jan Ray sound with this $63 pedal. BTW, this pedal is so popular, it's backordered at Sweetwater.
