Two oscillators, FM synth, it was fun to design new sounds. Souds are weak, I used to put some pedal effects to get more robust sound

Just picked up this Korg 707 fm polyphonic. I got it because it’s unloved, it was a flop when it came out in 1987 and they never became popular. It has a good home now
You can see Zawinul playing it many times thorugh this master-piece live concert (a duet, with Trilok Gurtu) ...Like in 02:27''; 10:59'''; the full keyboard appears clearly in minute 12;00->05''; 13:10''; 13:17'', etc.... The Korg 707 is "small in size, simple in its design and offers fairly easy editing. It is a digital FM type synthesizer which makes some very thin and digital but sometimes interesting sounds. The synth engine is similar to the DS-8 without on-board effects." [From: http://www.vintagesynth.com/korg/korg_707.php]
"We fell in love with this cheap toy-ish synth, the Korg 707. A studio-mate bought it once for €30 and it became the most used instrument on the record."
Orgue Electronique uses the Korg 707 synthesizer, as detailed on Sternstudio’s website. This FM synth, known for its unique sound derived from Yamaha’s 4-operator FM technology, offers a distinctive, albeit thin, sound. Although Orgue Electronique finds editing the synth challenging and primarily relies on its presets, the Korg 707 remains a part of their creative setup.
