Marshall Major III review | TechRadar

Stylish yet flawed, the Marshall Major III headphones offer a chic aesthetic but falter in comfort and sound quality. While the top and mid ranges shine, the bass is lackluster, making them less ideal for bass enthusiasts. Additionally, the on-ear design can lead to discomfort over time, and passive noise isolation is poor, letting in too much external sound. For a casual listener who values design over audiophile-level sound, these may suffice, but serious music lovers should look elsewhere.

Marshall Major III Headphones Review | david susilo UNCENSORED

The Marshall Major III headphones bring a unique industrial design and intuitive controls that appeal to both casual listeners and budding producers. While their warm sound profile is suitable for a variety of genres, the bass can distort at higher volumes, potentially disappointing audiophiles seeking clarity. These headphones shine for everyday use but may falter for serious studio monitoring. Their comfort and style are commendable, yet they lack the precision needed for purist applications. Overall, they serve well for casual enjoyment but might leave some users wanting more from their audio experience.

Marshall Major III Bluetooth Review | PCMag

pcmag.com

The Marshall Major III Bluetooth headphones deliver solid audio quality and a comfortable design, but they face stiff competition in their price range. While the bass is robust and the highs are clear, distortion at high volumes is a drawback. The intuitive controls are a standout feature, but the lack of an automatic power-down when using a wired connection could lead to dead batteries. For $150, they’re a decent choice if you love the Marshall aesthetic, but savvy shoppers might find better options elsewhere.

Marshall Major III Review | headphonecheck.com

headphonecheck.com

The Marshall Major III offers solid build quality and comfort, with a design that pays homage to the brand's rock roots. While the sound profile is punchy and well-suited for genres like pop and rock, it lacks in volume reserves and detail, particularly in the treble range. This makes it less ideal for nuanced listening experiences, such as classical or jazz. The inclusion of phone functionalities and decent microphone quality is a plus, but the absence of in-line volume control may frustrate some users. Overall, it’s a decent budget option, but those seeking high fidelity might want to look elsewhere.

The Marshall Major IIIs are stylish rock-inspired on-ear headphones, with a well-balanced sound and a sturdy design

The Major headphones have always sounded good with rock and similar genres, but the Major III Bluetooth suit a wider range of music types. They still sound great with driving rock music, but feed them something slightly more subtle such as the live version of Hotel California by the Eagles from Hell Freezes Over and you can hear good separation, punchy bass drums and clear vocals. The sound is very direct and those looking for thundering bass will have to look elsewhere. But the Marshalls make anything sound good, from Librarian by My Morning Jacket and Do I Wanna Know? by the Arctic Monkeys at the indie-rock end of things, to hip-hop tracks such as Dr Dre’s Forgot About Dre or Can’t Take It With Me by Blue Sky Black Death.
