The gain channel's 'blues' mode offers glassy tones reminiscent of Stevie Ray Vaughan, making it a standout feature for blues players.
Source -
The amp's clean channel is described as exceptionally articulate with a rare 'bloom' effect, surprising even seasoned high-gain enthusiasts.
Source
Setup and maintenance

Adjusting the EQ so sliders are slightly elevated can enhance the overall signal, offering a richer sound experience.

When using a Tube Screamer, placing it before the amp input helps tighten the low end by rolling off bass frequencies.

Users recommend setting treble high and bass low to prevent muddiness, with EQ sliders creating a subtle smile curve for tight, balanced tones.
Source
Use cases and applications
Build quality
-
The cab is noted for being sturdy, and the Vintage 30 speaker is frequently praised for contributing significantly to the amp's overall tone.
Source

As the Royal Philharmonic Symphony filed in for sound check/rehearsal we got a tour of the stage and Dominic’s set up by his tech Rich Mazzetta. Dominic needed to scale down his volume and stage presence for the current Symphony tour from his tried and true stereo Lone Star rig so he enlisted two Express 5:25 1x12 combos.
