Critic Reviews

Clavia Nord Lead A1

soundonsound.com

The Nord Lead A1 is a charming virtual analog synth with a simplified interface that encourages creative experimentation. While it lacks some modern features like aftertouch and a screen, it excels in sound quality, offering rich, multi-timbral capabilities. Its streamlined design and improved effects section make it an excellent choice for those seeking a quick, intuitive programming experience, despite some limitations in modulation and parameter control. Ideal for vintage synth enthusiasts, it balances affordability with high-quality sound, though it may not satisfy those requiring extensive control and flexibility.

Nord Lead A1 review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The Nord Lead A1 is a streamlined and intuitive synth that excels in sound creation, offering a robust and portable design. It stands out with its versatile effects and sound quality akin to its pricier sibling, the NL4. However, it lacks some of the deeper tweakability and features found in the NL4, such as a dedicated filter envelope and more flexible oscillator setups. Overall, it's a compelling choice for those seeking the essential Nord sound at a more accessible price, though power users might miss the advanced controls of the NL4.

Best dance Synth I've ever heard

Recordings using just VST synths sound so thin usually. I agree with Deadmau5 that you should fatten up your sounds with some good analogue sounding synth and this is best I've found along with the Moogs.
