A Reverb Powerhouse with Few Limits

When we first unboxed the Ventris Dual Reverb, we could tell Source Audio put a lot of love and engineering prowess into this piece of gear. Known for their robust and high-quality designs, Source Audio did not disappoint with this unit.

The pedal feels solid in hand, with a durable casing and high-quality knobs that offer a full-range response, although we did wish the knobs felt a bit higher-end given the price point. That aside, the build quality is top-tier, promising years of consistent performance.

One of the standout features of the Ventris is its dual DSP engines, allowing users to blend two different reverb types for lush, complex soundscapes. The pedal boasts an impressive array of reverb types, including Hall, Room, Plate, Spring, and Shimmer, each delivering clarity, richness, and depth that's hard to beat. The Neuro Desktop Editor provides extensive control and customization options, making it a versatile tool for both stage and studio settings. However, the Neuro mobile app doesn’t yet support the Ventris, and some users might find the initial setup via the software editor a bit convoluted.

Sound quality-wise, the Ventris is exceptional. In our tests, it rivaled other high-end reverbs like the Strymon Big Sky and Boss RV-500. The Hall, Room, and Plate modes were particularly impressive, offering realistic and natural reverb sounds that are suitable for both guitar and keyboard use. We did find a few modes, like Offspring and Lofi, less useful, but that’s a minor quibble in an otherwise stellar lineup.
