Critic Reviews

TC Electronics G Force

soundonsound.com

The TC Electronic G-Force Multi Effects Processor is praised for its ultra-clean effects and intuitive interface, making it an excellent choice for serious guitarists looking to consolidate their equipment. Its ability to run all eight effect types simultaneously is impressive, and the Modifier Matrix allows for extensive real-time control. However, the lack of a dedicated pedalboard and the limitation of digital I/O at 44.1kHz might deter some users. Despite these drawbacks, its high-end sound quality and ease of use make the G-Force a strong contender in the effects market.

Good effects unit... but...

It's a pretty cool effects unit that is today 'getting on' a little. The major concern about the G-Force is the programmability is a bit of a pain compared to later equipment like the G-Major II which is also substantially less cost than the G-Force. I have used this unit for a number of years but never really mastered its idiosyncrasies all down to design really.

"Now I use a T.C. Electronic G-Force. I have nine presets, mostly delays and chorus. In every bank of sounds the first position is bone dry—no effects. We do a lot of improvisation as well, so I need some settings where I can engage individual effects, like a T.C. Nova that I can tap the tempo into for reverse delay, four different Burn Units with different drive settings, and an Electro-Harmonix POG for organ-type sounds."
