*cue heavenly angel chicks singing "awwwwwwwwww" or however you spell it.

This synth is an ar-15 to me. Medium at everything. But accurate, lightweight, and enough power to get the job done without shit getting blown up everywhere and excessive recoil.

Then if you add your own attachments, it starts to become it's own individual piece (distortion, satu, comp, etc).

Extremely flexible. Programming is actually easier than having a shit despite how it looks. Very clever. I mean, u can fucking chain all of their filters together after an osc. or send osc 1 to different filters on a diff lane into disto or ringmod.... fuck. u see?

You can get some really complex textures out of it.

Sold my Waldorf Blofeld for this and had $200 weed money left = Damn great deal.

Awesome!

To get my signature Noize Freak sound, I use u-he Zebra as well as TyrellNexus. A lot of people will tell you that they are Lennar Digital people or Native Instruments people. I like both of those plugins but u-he is by far my favorite because the synth design is very simple and versatile. I will say that Zebra's synth design is a little difficult but it is very useful because I have created some very powerful supersaws in there!

U-He Zebra 2

The U-He Zebra is an all-purpose weapon from classic synthesizer sounds to trendy EDM sounds. The quality of the sound generation and filters is absolutely terrific.

Powerful reverb and distortion for neurofunk sound

Just started using this synth. The Reverb FX is super powerful when paired with even a single basic oscillator. Add some distortion from external plugins and you've got amazing neurofunk & darkstep worthy sound.

"Zebra 2. You didn’t ask why, but I’ll tell you anyway. Because, it’s so versatile, it does a bit of everything: Subtractive synthesis, additive synthesis, wave-table synthesis, things that could be confused as granular synthesis, etc. It has an arpeggiator, amazing filters, a great ring modulator, more modules than you could possibly need, and you only ever have to view the ones you’re using rather than being overwhelmed with dials to choose from. You can draw in your own waveforms and shape them in really particular ways, creating your own wave-tables really quickly and easily. And of course the bottom line is, it sounds amazing!" says Mr. Bill, in this interview.
