Way Huge Havalina Review - Premier Guitar

premierguitar.com

The Way Huge WHE403 Havalina is a delightful nod to '60s germanium fuzz, offering a vast range of vintage tones in a robust, modern package. Its standout features include the sizzle and harmonic richness in the upper midrange, making it a powerhouse for lead work. Designed by Jeorge Tripps, the Havalina is built with a sturdy anodized aluminum enclosure and Russian germanium transistors, ensuring durability and quality. While its high-end brightness may challenge those new to fuzz pedals, its sensitivity to tone and volume adjustments allows for a versatile experience. At $119, it’s a bargain for both fuzz aficionados and newcomers to vintage fuzz sounds, though some may find its high-end a bit much if not carefully dialed. Overall, it’s a compelling option for those exploring the depths of fuzz.

An awesome germanium Tone Bender

This is a sleeper of a pedal and is sadly discontinued due to the lack of availability for the germanium components. These usually sell cheap and you shouldn't pass on them. This gets the Tone Bender MKII/III feel and has the germanium warmness as a bonus. Stacks incredibly well, and sounds great hitting a dirty amp.
