Description

Yamaha, a leader in musical instrument technology, has bridged the gap between vintage sound and cutting edge digital signal processing, with the Yamaha DG Series Guitar Amplifiers. These digital guitar amps and stomp boxes are revolutionizing the industry with amazing tube-like sound and powerful digital technology.

At the heart and soul of the DG, is Electronic Circuit Modeling, or ECM. This proprietary technology allows you to capture the subtle nuances found in the world's greatest tube amps, with amazing warmth and detail! From burning blues to sweet jazz to molten metal, you'll find a sound that meets your needs!

The DG100-212 incorporates the same great sound and features as the DG80-112 in a 2x12 combo boasting two 12" Celestion Vintage 30 speakers. You get the same articulate amp models and motorized knobs as the DG80-112 with on board digital effects that includes Tremolo, Chorus, Digital Reverb,Tape Echo and Speaker Simulation. Additional features include 128 Patch Locations, MIDI Effects Control, XLR Output with Speaker Simulation, Effects Send/Return with Blend Control, MIDI IN/OUT, and an Extension Speaker jack for connecting an external cabinet.

" I'm getting a little of that Band Of Gypsys thing. When I go to my bridge pickup, I'm getting that British-style Cream sort of sound. What really made a difference is that I stopped using power amps and Marshall cabinets. Now I'm using a pair of Yamaha's new DG100-212 100-watt 2x12 combos. They're the digital modeling series. I saw Holdsworth using one and I thought it sounded great. Yamaha gave me one to try and I really enjoyed it. One day I got this bright idea to plug one side of my rack into the return on the effects loop, and it sounded great. I got another amp and hooked up the left and right signals to each of the amps, and that's when everything changed for me. I should have been using open-backed style guitar amps all along because that's where my style is. I always had to fight a Marshall cabinet. There's something about the closed-back and it's not as "bouncy." To me, the open-back cabinet is way more vocal than the Marshall cabinets."
