Critic Reviews

Yamaha THR5 Review - IN-DEPTH TESTED

guitaristnextdoor.com

The Yamaha THR5 shines with its retro aesthetics and versatility, offering great clean and crunch tones ideal for beginners or travelers. It stands out with its compact size and recording capabilities, but falls short in build quality, lacking a robust feel. Its treble-heavy sound and limited EQ might not satisfy those seeking rich, full tones, and its battery life is underwhelming compared to competitors. While stylish and feature-rich, other amps like the Roland Micro Cube GX offer better sound and value in this price range. Ideal for those valuing looks and portability over premium sound.

C

the best practice amplifier you can get

great tones at the perfect size and volume. the 10 and 30 are a bit too large for me. but my only gripe with the thr5 is the lack of savable presets onboard and a straight DI amp model.

bencowling

Perfect practice amp

Great little practice amp with unbelievable clean tones and great built in effects. Looks cool too. Only hang-up is that the volume changes significantly as you switch through different amp models (clean, crunch, modern etc.) but no biggie.

paul_bamford

Yeah agreed the volume change is annoying but it’s a great little thing

themademperor

Amazing amp!!!!

5 amp modelings, 8 effects, hi-fi stereo, aux in, battery powered or AC powered, and USB connection.
