Description
Introducing the Yamaha HS8 W, the embodiment of Yamaha's legacy in nearfield monitoring. This powered studio monitor offers a sonic reference that is as true as it gets, making it a trusted choice for any studio setting. With its advanced bi-amplified configuration, it presents an 8" cone woofer and 1" dome tweeter, delivering pristine audio with remarkable resolution across the entire frequency spectrum.
The HS8's iconic white woofer is revered in the industry for its accurate bass response. With a meticulously optimized large magnet and suspension, it minimizes distortion and resonance, producing a tight and controlled low end. On the other end of the spectrum, the 1" dome tweeter, with its smooth contour design, reduces high-frequency losses, allowing it to reproduce the most subtle sonic nuances with surgical precision. Together, these design elements result in exceptional high-frequency clarity and detailed sound retrieval.
Adding to its superior performance, the HS8 uses bi-amplification to separately power its woofer and tweeter, eliminating any interaction between the drivers. This configuration also allows each amplifier to be tailored to its driver's specific needs, leading to minimal distortion, an expansive dynamic range, and a soundstage with pinpoint imaging.
To ensure accurate low-end response in any room, Yamaha has included a room control switch on the HS8. This compensates for bass buildup caused by close-wall placement, allowing you to hear the true sound of your mix regardless of the monitor's position.

Crystal Clear Monitoring!
I've owned some other "competitor" brand monitors in the BX8s, but the HS8s blow those out of the water in clarity. Being able to hear each individual layer that I put into my music is essential in trying to fill the space for a clean mix, top to bottom. I make Hardstyle, so being able to hear the tone of my kicks cleanly helps in how I EQ the rest of my track or even my kick to give me a "TRUE" representation of whats actually happening in my production and also sound design.

Very Colorful Bass... A bit high of a bass Response
i think these speakers are great. they are a great example of sound.. For me the bass is too high for a true Hi-Fi Sound. I will work on learning the balance of these speakers. I will be trying to adapt to the high bass output from these. I was hoping for a more true sound and not so colorful.

Make sure your room can handle these bad boys! Other than that, really great for every day master use.
