The Yamaha SG-300 was introduced in 1981 as a follow up to the earlier Yamaha SG-500 and Yamaha SG-600 that were issued in 1976-1981 as an addition to the initial Yamaha SG line up of Yamaha SG-500, 700, 1000, 1500 and SG-2000 The SG-300 was produced in burgundy red and black. The SG-300 is a light-weight excellent guitar and its flat design and lighter weight makes it easy to play, it has low action with a powerful sound from 2 high output double hum-buckers. In the Eagles of Death Metal studio footage Josh Homme appears using an Yamaha SG (can't see for sure what kind of Yamaha SG this is, but it is!) recording "Cherry Cola". Maybe an Yamaha SG 1000 or 300. Someone with frieze. You can check it out: 4:08.
