Description
The Yamaha SG-300 was introduced in 1981 as a follow up to the earlier Yamaha SG-500 and Yamaha SG-600 that were issued in 1976-1981 as an addition to the initial Yamaha SG line up of Yamaha SG-500, 700, 1000, 1500 and SG-2000 The SG-300 was produced in burgundy red and black. The SG-300 is a light-weight excellent guitar and its flat design and lighter weight makes it easy to play, it has low action with a powerful sound from 2 high output double hum-buckers. Hardware is chrome. A brass hardware version of this guitar was labelled SG-400, the SG-300 appears to be rare and not issued in Japan.
