Critic Reviews

Zoom G1Xon Review

guitar.com

Zoom's G1Xon is a budget-friendly multi-FX processor that impresses with its extensive feature set, including 58 effects, 22 amp simulations, a built-in looper, and a tuner. It's perfect for beginners and versatile enough for seasoned players seeking a cost-effective option for practice and songwriting. While it doesn't offer stereo connectivity and the screen is small, its ease of use and sound quality at this price point make it a standout choice. Ideal for those who don't require pedal wah or Whammy-style pitch shifters, the G1Xon delivers great value for money.

Way way better than I expected

Given the cheap feel of this pedal, I didn't expect much from it, but it really blew me away, has over 70 great presets, and a really good looper, got it yesterday and I'm obsessed. great job, zoom.

S

Decent for what it is.

Good construction quality. The effects emulation itself could be better but it's like 100 effects for the price of 1 real pedal. Good for testing effects out for yourself to see ballpark what they sound like and how they are for you before investing in a full expensive pedal, but not great for much more than experimentation. I'd definitely be hesitant about gigging with it. The built-in chromatic tuner is accurate, but does not mute the signal, rather mutes the effects so a dry signal is still going into your amp, which would be unprofessional on stage.

One of the best multi fx out there

Straight off the mark: £60! For that price the ridiculous amount you get, is crazy. This is VFM incarnate. Thrown into this is pretty much every sort of effect you can think of, from modulations, to drives, to filters, to fairly detailed amp modelling w/cab modelling, to craziness. You also get a slightly dodgy looper, and a pretty good drum rhythm machine. The drives are as you would expect digitally, and for £60: Not amazing, but satisfactory, Modulations, and filters are not to be sniffed at, as are the delays, and reverbs, and pitch effects, along with most of the stuff in this box. The looper is really fricking weird, in a sense where you have to play for a preset period of time meaning its essentially useless, and the rhythm thing is okay (Bear in mind its just not a drum machine, its just a single pattern, no tap tempo generator) and supplies its need. I'd definitely advise, it was my first pedal, and it was a brilliant introduction, and it'd be a great first pedal for anybody looking to get into the scene, and learn about fx. That said I still use it on my board today for compression, equalisation, the add bit of modulation, filtering, and reverb. 4/5

Portable and affordable all-in-one pedal for gigs and recording

I have used a lot of pedals from single stompbox to multieffects processor but this one is the most practical all-in-one pedal for me. Super lightweight and portable. It has everything I needed from amp simulation to built-in wah. Also has got option to use batteries which is handy during outdoor gigs. No need to keep looking for power or bringing long extension leads just to get power. Lastly, the price of this pedal is unbelievable. Easy to use and decent sound both for recording and live gigs.

william_dodenhoff

I loved it since I got it.

It's a great pedal for the price but a few months when I found the ToneLib Zoom program installed on My laptop it is so EZ to use. I'd give it a 10 stares. Anyone know of any upgrades for the Pedal. More pedals like the Roland Jet Phaser....billy

B

Pretty Good

For a multi-effects pedal, it does well, but I can hear the difference between it and stomp boxes. If you want a good sound out of it, you have to fiddle with the patch settings, but it's a good overall pedal, I am impressed with how good the looper is as well.

Masses of Tones

It has so many tones, that replicate some of the most famous musicians in the world. Perfect.

Best Price Performance Product

In my opinion it is like you get in a store and have access to all(nearly) effects and try them much as you want. It definitely gives best quality for its price.

fertzeneheimer

just buy it

It does practically everything, it sounds better than some actual peals I've used and you can pick it up for 70 and even though I'm not a big fan of amp modeling it does a great job at it

matt_taylor

Lots Of Choice

There are plenty of presets to choose from and it is great for a fairly cheap multi effects pedal.
