Critic Reviews

Zoom G1X Four review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The Zoom G1X Four offers an impressive array of effects and a user-friendly interface, making it an excellent choice for beginner guitarists. Its intuitive design allows for quick patch creation, and while many effects work well, the drive sounds leave much to be desired. The pedal is not ideal for live performances due to its limited footswitches and complexity under pressure. For practice and experimentation, however, it shines as a budget-friendly option. Overall, it provides solid value, but seasoned players may find it lacking in crucial performance areas.

The best multi-effects pedal for new guitarists

engadget.com

The Zoom G1X Four is a fantastic entry-level multi-effects pedal that offers an impressive array of over 70 effects, amp models, and user-friendly features, all at an attractive price point. While some effects sound a bit sterile and the build quality could be better, the overall sound quality, especially the reverbs and delays, makes it a worthwhile investment for beginners. Its intuitive interface and desktop app streamline patch creation, making it easier to explore its capabilities. However, players should be cautious of the cheesy pre-set patches. Ultimately, the G1X Four stands out for its versatility and value, perfect for novice guitarists ready to experiment.

Make do with, incredible results with only equipment!

It's incredible, I can recreate iconic rock guitar tones with just one equipment. For those who want to play live, just don't put an AMP or Cabinet in the options (conflict with the AMP that you're using too), which leaves 2 slots for effects pedals. The only thing I missed was at least 2 slots since I use AMP and Cabinet in most of my setups.

Quality Modeling, Affordable, Just Right

This is a great entry-level multi effects pedal for a few reasons. The mods actually sound like what they are replicating unlike many of its predecessors. With 5 spots available in a chain it allows players the opportunity to experiment with different options that would oftentimes be neglected when being forced to buy individual pedals. On average $100-$200/pedal adds up real quick.

Cons: Can be difficult to dial in a proper EQ setup when playing with a 7-string. A basic knowledge & understanding of pedal boards/chains is necessary when creating one's own patches.

Preferred Settings + Usage:

I would recommend users to install the Guitar Lab. This not only gives users more options for effect types but it also allows the option for beginners to find patches that emulate their biggest influences. Via the Guitar Lab is much easier than trying to search across the internet or the old trial and error method as you play with the effects and mods.

Great low-budget pedalboard

It´s a great pedalboard for beginners and those who can´t afford more expensive pedalboards. Good number of slots for patches, expression/volume pedal, 30 sec loop multilayer for study/home recordings, portable even in a bag for those who plays in different venues frequently, easy to use/edit.

Incredible delivery for the low price

It's a pedalboard with great cost-benefit, delivering a surprisingly good sound. It lacks some features, such as MIDI connection to a PC. Even so, I would definitely recommend it.
