Critic Reviews

Audio-Technica ATH-M60x Review - RTINGS.com

rtings.com

While the Audio-Technica ATH-M60x offers a solid sound quality and a lightweight design that’s comfortable for critical listening, it falters in practical usage. Lacking controls, these on-ear headphones struggle with noise isolation, making them unsuitable for commuting or sports. They also don’t fold for portability. Ultimately, while they may please audiophiles, their limitations in everyday functionality make them a tough sell for casual listeners.

negative

Audio-Technica ATH-M60x review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The Audio-Technica ATH-M60x delivers a lightweight, comfortable design that maintains a reliable, neutral sound signature. Ideal for mixing and mastering, these headphones shine with their mid-range focus and detachable cables. However, their slim profile may not withstand the rigors of life on the road, and the on-ear fit offers less isolation compared to larger over-ear models. Still, for studio use, their sound quality and portability make them a compelling choice.

positive

Audio-Technica ATH M60x

soundonsound.com

The Audio-Technica ATH-M60x excels in portability and comfort, making it a solid choice for engineers and DJs on the move. With a lightweight build and detachable cables, the headphones are designed for rugged use. However, they fall short in isolation compared to industry standards like the Sennheiser HD25, and their treble-heavy sound can be abrasive on certain tracks. While they capture the essence of the M-series, those seeking a mixing tool might want to look elsewhere. If comfort trumps isolation for you, the M60x might just fit the bill!

Review: Audio-Technica ATH-M60x Headphones

mixonline.com

The Audio-Technica ATH-M60x headphones deliver a remarkable sound experience with deep, wide soundstage and excellent imaging, making them ideal for both professional mixing and leisurely listening. Their comfort during long sessions is a standout feature, overcoming the usual discomfort of on-ear designs. However, their non-collapsible design could pose portability issues for travel. While they are solidly constructed and include multiple detachable cables, some users may find them bulkier than expected. Still, for those seeking accuracy and comfort, the ATH-M60x is a compelling choice.

Excellent sound ! Congrats

Really great studio headphones and these are in my opinion its positive points: - Perfectly detailed sound on each frequency; - Excellent positioning of the instruments; - No frequency prevails over the others; - Powerful but defined bass; - Replaceable cable (a good point in its favor) Instead I would have to object to some aspects against that could be improved in a future model: - On-ear, uncomfortable (If you can't bear the pressure on your ears); - Not so "portable" because they do not become compact to be transported but luckily its headphone bag comes out inside the box; - Minimum soundstage (but present and prevents the sound from losing details); Basically it is an excellent product especially if you are a melodic techno or melodic house music producer.
