AT's Best Drivers, Worst Design

The sound profile from this pair is second to none, however the build quality is still lacking, and hasn't moved on from its predecessors. While the 50x's at least had a 2-pin system which held the earcups onto the frame, the 70x's merely have an internal plastic screw which connects these bits, and also allows for the 45 degree rotation of each earcup. This piece of plastic is what failed on mine, forcing me to glue it back as it had entirely shattered. There was no way to temporarily fix the problem, like the pin system on the 50s allows you to do. Disappointing to say the least, but the glue has held for a year until the other earcup snapped this past December. RIP

Awesome Headphones. Enough Said.

This was my first pair of professional quality headphones and I could not be happier. Their frequency response is very flat and everything sounds really balanced on them. The sound quality amazes me again and again overtime I put them on. You might see some reviews out there that complain of a serious lack of low end sound. But all of those reviews are probably written by music consumers; not music producers. These headphones were specifically design for the people who are mixing and recording; hence the uber flat frequency response. Anyone who complains about a lack off low end is probably better off buying some Beats or a pair of 20$ Skull Candy's. To be honest, there's really nothing left to say about the audio quality. It is just amazing.

I also love the way Audio-Technica implemented the interchangeable cables. This has been super convenient in every possible scenario. For example, at home, I really don't need that much cable so I only use the shortest 1/8". But, if I am playing live at church or at a show, having the longer cable is super helpful. You only have to use as much cable as you need.

These things also looks so good! I love the minimalistic, sleek look.

Amazing

To be honest it took a little getting used coming from a music consumer's perspective diving into the music producers world of needing headphones that don't color the sound. Only thing though is that I keep confusing myself in thinking that my song doesn't have enough bass and when I put in my 30 dollar earbuds, I find that I added way too much bass and have too go back and fix it. Its not a complaint, just saying if you if these our your first professional Monitor's like they are for me, then this should be something to look out for.

Also don't get discouraged like I did when I first got them. Since I got them off amazon I felt cheated out of 200 some odd dollars because they felt a little lacking... With the M70x's that is simply not the case.

Decent

It has good quality and decent bass, but the sound tends to get distorted when the volume gets over a certain threshold.
