Description
The Behringer PRO-1 synthesizer is a dynamic throwback to the influential monophonic analog synthesizers of the early '80s. With its authentic 3340 and 3320 semiconductors, this semi-modular marvel delivers a robust all-analog signal path that is both rich and versatile. Whether you're a performer, producer, or sound designer, the PRO-1 offers a vast palette for creating the iconic basses and leads that defined a generation of music.
Equipped with dual voltage-controlled oscillators (VCOs), the PRO-1 allows you to experiment with saw, pulse, and triangle waveforms. The 24dB four-pole analog filter is capable of self-resonance, providing extensive tone-shaping capabilities that range from warm and smooth to aggressive and biting. The built-in arpeggiator and dual 64-step sequencer further amplify your creative potential, making performance and composition intuitive and engaging.
For those who wish to expand their sonic horizons, the PRO-1 is Eurorack compatible and supports up to 16 voices in Poly Chain mode, letting you connect multiple units for expanded polyphony. Add to this a switchable drone mode for ambient soundscapes, and you have a synthesizer that not only stands out on its own but integrates seamlessly into larger setups for more complex creations.

Damn you Behringer...
Behringer keeps cranking out these knock-offs and I keep shaking my head but also salivating a bit. I've had my eye on the Pro-1 and ultimately sprung for it because I was looking for something that could fill a niche in my setup to get some of those classic Skinny Puppy/Klinik/FLA/Mentallo & The Fixer/90s electro-type sounds and stand well on its own in a mostly raw un-effected format and sit well in a mix. The paraphonic mode was the icing on the cake. And so inexpensive! Can't wait to see what I conjure out of this guy.

A perfect replacement for my long ago sold SCI Pro One
This sounds exactly like I wanted it to. The interface is familiar to me. I love triggering the sequencer from the RD-8 or 707 or whatever else.
They did a bang up job cloning a vintage synth that I regret selling and is now too expensive to justify buying again.

Don't hesitate, invest in this synth!!
I must seem like a Behringer fanboy by now, but there's a good reason for that, they make dope synthesizers. The Pro-1 has a fat, warm, heavy, punchy sound. It's a lot of fun to use and best of all it works as it should. The tones I'm getting out of this one are nothing short of fresh! This is a must-have synthesizer!

you said 'dope' and 'fresh' in the same review.... I feel 15 again
great sound, cheaply manufactured
pros - great control over oscillators, lfo is fun, filter sounds great
cons - side panels are plastic, there is a constant humming through the audio out that happens when midi is connected, bass could be warmer, mod matrix difficult to navigate.
