Critic Reviews

Boss GX-10 review | Guitar World

guitarworld.com

A solid performer, the Boss GX-10 dazzles with its extensive array of effects and user-friendly touch screen interface. However, while its effects shine with clarity and depth, the amp models fall short of the competition, lacking the excitement and presence found in rival products. The unit is well-built and versatile, but high-gain tones can be fizzy, leaving some users craving more from this $400 processor. If you're looking for exceptional effects and don't mind the underwhelming amp simulations, the GX-10 could be a worthy addition to your setup.

Boss GX-10 review: a high-end experience for a reasonable outlay

guitar.com

The Boss GX-10 Multi Effects Processor offers a treasure trove of sounds in a compact package, perfect for bedroom jammers and studio enthusiasts alike. With a stellar selection of 170 effects and 32 amp models, it delivers impressive user experience at an appealing price. Its touchscreen and controls enhance creativity, making it easy to navigate presets and tweak sounds. However, it falls short for live performance, with limited gigging capabilities and some effects that may not satisfy purists. Ultimately, while it excels in versatility and value, its sound quality may leave seasoned players wanting more.

The best mfx I own

I have a few MFX's but this is the one I will concentrate on. It’s amp sims are even better than my zoom and boss gt1s. My two bucket list anmos were a fender deluxe annd an Roland jc120. The sims anre so good, I no longer desire them. I have the sounds I wanted. Its effects are pretty great. To nitpick, the bd1 doesn’t have the response of the pedal, but there’s the send and return in the back. So I can add my blues driver. The ds 1 is tremendous. The reverbs are fantastic. I like having things like the Tera echo and ring modulator.

Setup is pretty easy, and even the more complex stuff makes sense once you get your head around it.

As a bassist I love its bass effects, and its compatibility with acoustics is just superb.

I now take this instead of an amp and pedalboard. I might even sell my pedals.

More functionality. Same processor. Costs a bit more but if you need the extra, (I don’t, but you might) then go for this one.
