The all-in-one-BOSS

I use this one in a 4-cable-method-combination with my amp. It's a good alternative to working with multiple stompboxes. In this regard Boss is a champ anyway: good effects, easy controls and build like a tank - it's indestructable. The GT-6 has been way ahead of its time back then. Of course the GT-6 has aged a bit since the build-in amp-section is not on par with digial amping solutions nowadays.

Good pedal Processing board.

It is a good board to start with, but some sounds are not really that good. For example, the pitch shifter sounds make the regular sound all fuzzy, which I haven't had before.

great set of boosters and overdrives, all the tone of the old boss stomp boxes!

This is great for given you access to all those old boss pedal tones. I know I've lost a lot of the original boss stompboxs I've owned over the years, but with this I can get all the overdrives and boosters (as well as some of the more idiosyncratic pedals boss have released) in one floorboard.. it's a great bit of kit that I use all the time along side my other pedals!....great for overdrive tones!

Workhorse with tons of customisation

Don't use it in front of your amp. Also don't just stick to the preset patches. Build your own! Use it in your effects loop - play with delays, use the tap function in a live scenario so so that delays sync to songs in real time. Super versatile!

"You’ve used a lot of BOSS guitar products such as the GT-6, GT-8, and GS-10. How have you used those multi-effects processors?" - BOSS asking Marty Friedman.

Guitar.com interview done with Friedman in 2010:

I used a Roland GT-6 for a lot of the scratch tracks and then I wound up keeping some of the scratch tracks because the tones I tweaked from the GT-6 were sounding kind of fresh.
