Features and functionality
-
The pedal provides a thick, characterful sound with P90 pickups, but is mostly a fat boost with low-output pickups like those on a Jaguar.
Source -
The pedal's filter knob affects bass frequencies, with higher settings reducing low-end presence; noon on the filter with full gain offers a balanced tone for bass.

It's noted as a clone of the Vertex Steel String, making it desirable due to its association with a more expensive, high-demand pedal.

Effective in a pedal chain with a Metal Muff Nano and Behringer Tube Amp Modeler, providing subtle effects that complement other pedals.

My always-on
I'm basically using this as a preamp. The only things before it in my chain are my noise gate and compressor. It's reportedly the same circuit as the Vertex Steel String, itself an attempt to replicate the tones of the Dumble Steel String Singer. It's a nice crisp, transparent sound and almost certainly the least expensive good-sounding Dumble-style pedal. Mine stays on at virtually all times. Sounds great into my other ODs when I want some grit–I recommend the TS Mini and the EXH Satisfaction as fun pairings with this pedal

Great, when used purposefully
As a general overdrive going into the front of the amp, this thing was very unimpressive to me. The filter knob didn’t seem to do anything and the gain just made it boomier. The magic finally happen when I bypassed my amp and plugged my board right into my audio interface to record direct into my DAW. I then moved this pedal after an overdrive and a fuzz. It really came to life and drastically warmed up my sound. I was shocked at how great and useful this was, especially after previously writing it off. Highly recommended, assuming you can use it in this capacity. Well worth the $30 or whatever this thing costs presently.
Preferred Settings + Usage:
Filter about noon and gain at 3 or so is great after overdrive/fuzz!
