Good for begineers
This audio interface can be a wise choice if you want to get into audio, or just need an interface. But I would recommend buying an Mbox 2 instead (that I haven't tested yet), second hand, that you will find for around $30 - $50, while the Mbox 1 can be found at $20. I didn't liked the fact that you need to use the 2 ports to have your input as stereo.

@navu Yep, I can totally assist you if you're on Windows, I can help you later that day. Just tell me your OS (and what you use it for (like if it's just for a microphone, or for digitalizing an instrument))

It works with every DAW, and no need for drivers if you're on Linux.

@navu I had found the drivers with a key. I posted it on my GitHub. Just read the readme part, and download the thing in the releases part (it's on the right): https://github.com/Meb-Do-Stuff/MBOX1-Digidesign-driver

An MBox can be seen in a photograph of J Dilla's home studio taken in summer 2005—during the recording of The Shining, according to Stones Throw Records—by Raph Rashid for Behind the Beat: Hip-Hop Home Studios. It was reposted to Instagram by ASTÉTICAS on February 6, 2022, in the top-right corner of this Instagram post's fourth slide.
Joey Santiago opens the door for David Lovering at 1:09:14 in the loudQUIETloud Pixies documentary. As Joey tells David "This is the worst fucking recording studio I've ever been to in my life", his Digidesign Mbox is in clear view, with the backside reflected in a mirror.
A lot of the pre-editing is now done in File's Apple laptop with Digidesign's M Box and Pro Tools LE, "which is 24-track and as much as I need. After which we'll go into the Strongroom to spend two days finishing off there. We stick the mixes on CD-R, while many of our samples will be coming off the MPC2000."

The Mbox 2 is the newer version of the Mbox 1. It now supports MIDI, and the XLR and Jack inputs are separated. Its design is also now more handy, since the Mbox 1 was standing up, this one is laying on your desk, taking less vertical space.
