Mentioned in this June 1, 2001 Remix article and listed in the liner notes of Fantastic Damage.
Remix, June 1, 2001, "Bomb Tracks: A Hip-Hop How-To"
El-P usually records vocals onto Alesis ADATs, or sometimes into Pro Tools using a Digidesign Digi 001. He'll do a lot of re-arranging of music after recording vocals, “and that's one of the greatest things about having Pro Tools,” he says. “I lay vocals down and then go back and really pick apart the track. It's a beautiful thing if you want to take one snare out at one spot. It's just really easy.” El-P digs the automation of both Pro Tools and his main mixing board, a Mackie Digital 8-Bus. He can't imagine going back to the days before automation. “For years I used analog boards,” he recalls. “I remember the hell of having to mix an entire song where the process was like some kind of modern-dance performance! For four minutes straight you have to twist knobs, do punches, do drops and fader rides — and if you screw one thing up you have to do that shit again.”

When I had to write some additional songs for SA2: Battle, I tracked every instrument myself. I decided to do it with Pro Tools LE, and bought digi001. It was a great opportunity to learn how to use the new software. After tracking, I sent the data to the Wave Master studio in Japan, and the engineer mixed the songs. Five years ago that would have been impossible.
Used for the recording of "Chutes Too Narrow".
A few of the songs were just done, recorded entirely in the basement, using the equipment I bought, which also included a Digi 001
"I got my Digi 001 and I tried Pro Tools and I thought, 'This is amazing software' and the sound of everything was just so much better. I immediately lost interest in MIDI. MIDI seemed to me like poking at sound down a long wire."

"The Lily's I did to tape. My own stuff I'm doing in Pro Tools. I just bought it [Digi001]. I still haven't figured out how to come out of Pro Tools and go through one of these outboard boxes. I'm sure it's easy. But I haven't gotten that far yet. But I love it."
"Then we moved on to a U87 with a new capsule in it, which Marc felt more comfortable with, and recorded the rest of the album on that — I'd say about 70 percent — straight into Logic with a Digidesign 001 interface."
"I was working in a small recording studio in AIR Lyndhurst in what used to be studio manager's office," recalls Duffy. "I had recorded at AIR off and on over the years, and had mixed Looking For A Day In The Night there in 1999. Following that, the room became available and they offered it to me. I installed a Pro Tools Digi 001, and a G4 with Logic, and a Yamaha 02R desk and some bits and pieces I had collected over the years, and for the next three or four years I'd go there every day to work on music. Out of that time came Lilac 6, the Devils album Dark Circles [Duffy's collaboration with Duran Duran's Nick Rhodes], and Keep Going [Duffy's most recent solo album].
Headnodic uses a Digidesign Digi 001, as shown in a photo he posted on Instagram on April 2, 2014, where the distinctive white and blue material of the device is visible. The caption reads: "Importing all the old ADATs of Mission: / Crown City unreleased gems... Daaamn! There's heat all over these tapes. #1996 - #2004."
