Amazing Beginner Guitar (with some issues)

Model: Epiphone SG Special-I

Finish: Cherry Red

Year: 2024

This was my first ever guitar that I have owned for almost a year and I love the feel, sound, and overall look of this guitar! I do have some slight problems with it though.

  1. The tuners are not the most reliable, the high strings will usually stay in tune but you're having to re-tune quite often, especially if you're playing more heavy stuff.

  2. This may be just a me problem, but everytime I tune the low E string down, it makes a loud snapping sound, I have inspected and pulled it apart to see what was causing it but I've been unable to figure anything out, I also don't see any damage associated with the noise.

Aside from the tuning problems, which you can easily solve by upgrading to better tuning pegs, this guitar is great, and the simple controls really help if you're new to playing guitar. If you're a professional, looking for a budget guitar and/or getting your first guitar, I would highly recommend this to you.

Amazing!

So after offloading my Harley Benton double cut, I was missing the option to have a "Gibson flavored" guitar. Thinking back to how my old Squier Toronado was touted as an SG killer, and thinking about how I love the SG in general, I came across this gorgeous thing at my local Music Go Round. Fell in love instantly. It's everything I need in a "second guitar" - simple, no frills, and sounds amazing!

The Pelham Blue finish is understated and tasteful, as opposed to the very blue of that HB Double Cut. Pickups sound great, the controls work wonderfully, and with my effects it absolutely sings!
