Description

The Gibson SG Standard 2017 HP in Heritage Cherry is not just an electric guitar; it's a powerful testament to Gibson's legacy of shaping rock history. This sleek, double-cutaway beauty, famously known for its "devil horns," has been a staple in the hands of legendary guitarists. Crafted with a solid mahogany body, it offers a lightweight feel without compromising on sustain. The 490R and 490T Alnico II humbuckers are the heart of its sound, delivering a perfect blend of warmth and clarity reminiscent of the vintage P.A.F. tones but with a modern edge.

The SG Standard boasts a rounded-profile mahogany neck that feels just right whether you're riffing aggressively or gently bending notes. The bound rosewood fingerboard, equipped with 22 medium-jumbo frets and a 12" radius, ensures effortless playability and precision. Its Plek’d fretboard guarantees flawless fretwork, allowing you to glide through solos with ease.

Aesthetically, the SG Standard exudes classic charm with its full-face black pickguard and chrome-plated hardware, while the nitrocellulose lacquer finish enhances its tonal qualities and visual appeal. The inclusion of high-quality components like the aluminum Nashville Tune-o-matic bridge, stopbar tailpiece, and Grover Rotomatic tuners ensure stability and tuning precision throughout your performance.

For those who seek a guitar that bridges the gap between vintage appeal and modern versatility, the Gibson SG Standard is your ideal companion, ready to rock any stage.

Outstanding SG

Butter neck. Ten years ago I sold my 1987 SG Custom with Butter Neck to pay for school. I regretted it ever since. The 2017 HP has cured my regret. The tuners are more stable than I remember in the old one. I luv the HP’s strap button locations and the adjustable titanium nut. Additionally, ,the HP does not come with the SG-itis neck drop...the one that claimed a friend’s 1987 SG Custom that inspired me to get one. If you want the best SG in production get one of these HP’s used.
