According to Slash's guitar tech, Slash's main guitars are the "Slash AFD guitars. They're replicas of the Les Pauls he used on the Appetite for Destruction album, and every album since then. (0:25). "He actually used the original guitar on the last album, but we keep it safely put away - we use copies Gibson makes for us that are awesome guitars in their own right," the tech said.
"I use two Joan Jett signatures, and for the U.K. leg of the tour, we had a Signature T Les Paul Goldtop and a Slash Signature."
O'Brien used the Slash signature Les Paul for his guitar battle with Jack Black. Ironically, Slash played O'Brien's guitar parts in this battle.
"Gibson Slash AFD Signature Les Paul is out of control. Part of what makes that guitar so great is the Seymour Duncan Slash Signature Alnico II pickups. which are just amazing. They're so clear, you can hear each note in a full chord through a distorted amp, but still hot enough to give you some serious bite and drive. I love them so much that Seymour Duncan is sending me out some to throw in my other guitars too."
