Description

Revolutionize your sound experience with the Hartmann Neuron, a powerhouse in the realm of synthesizers. This innovative instrument takes you beyond traditional boundaries with its neural network-powered sound engine, offering unprecedented audio creation possibilities. At the heart of the Neuron is its ability to render four sounds simultaneously, providing a rich, multitimbral soundscape perfect for any musical composition.

The Neuron's synthesis engine uses unique models as the foundation for sound generation. These models, akin to samples, are derived from audio analysis, allowing for a vast array of auditory events to be transformed into creative sound bites. With access to 100 pre-installed models, plus the option to create and archive your own through the proprietary ModelMaker software, your sound design options are virtually limitless.

The user interface is designed for an immersive, tactile experience, featuring rotary encoders with infinite control range. This, combined with the dynamic parameter assignment via the resynators' sticks, provides an intuitive and responsive interaction that sets the Neuron apart from conventional synthesizers. Whether you're exploring sound in Surround mode through its six analog outputs or crafting digital masterpieces via the stereo S/PDIF output, the Neuron’s customizable control features ensure you have the tools you need to shape your sonic landscape.

Key Features:

  • Neural network-powered synthesis engine
  • Four-way multitimbral capability
  • 100 pre-installed sound models
  • Proprietary ModelMaker software for creating custom models
  • Six analog audio outputs configured for 5.1 Surround
  • Stereo S/PDIF digital output

Critic Reviews

Hartmann Neuron

soundonsound.com

While the Hartmann Neuron boasts an innovative resynthesis approach with a unique neural network for creating sounds, it struggles to live up to its ambitious claims. The synth's potential is overshadowed by significant flaws: glitchy models, limited polyphony, and an overly complex setup process requiring external software. The user interface, while novel, can be frustrating with esoteric terminology and user-unfriendly controls. Although it offers a distinct sound character suitable for experimental sound design, conventional musicians might find it difficult to justify its hefty price tag for limited practical use. The Neuron seems more like an expensive work-in-progress than a revolutionary tool.
