High on Technology: REVIEW JHS 3 SERIES HALL REVERB

highontechnology.tech

The JHS 3 Series Hall Reverb is a game-changer, delivering expansive reverb effects at an accessible price. With intuitive controls for mixing, damping, and decay time, it’s perfect for ambient music creators seeking lush soundscapes. The additional modulation feature adds a delightful dimension to the tone. However, while the build quality is commendable, some users might find the knob placements a bit cramped. SUPER touchy but when you get that Goldilocks setting? Sublime.

I got this out at Haggerty's Musicworks in Rapid City, South Dakota (highly recommend checking them out) and it's... fine, I guess?

The guy who helped me get it said he mostly played worship music and from the sound of this pedal, I'm guessing he's more of an ambient player because this is absolutely an ambient player's pedal. Part of me wants me to trade it in but I also kinda don't mind it. It's not the best for what I play but I recognize a good pedal when I hear one.

Not the best for classic rock songs with more subtle reverb (subtlety is this pedal's weakest suit) but it sounds absolutley great on spacey and chimey rhythm and lead parts. Finding a more subtle reverb on this thing is like trying to split an atom but when you find it, it's Heaven.

Preferred Settings + Usage:

Decay - 8:00 Dampen - 1:00 Decay - 10:00 Modulate - Off
