PODHD500
I think Line6 PODHD500 is a very good effect processor and amp modelling/simulation for electric guitar. Almost all professional effect processors/amp simulation can do the work to get for instance harmonizers, delay, reverb, pitch shifters, distortion, amp models, chorus, phasers and so on, just as PODHD500 can. And i think PODHD500 has very fine HD modelling.
Versatile unit. Use it all the time.
I enjoy using this device. It's great for fly dates. The tones are great and the effects cover just about anything you can dream up.
Still playing and playing and.......
So much to experiment with, excellent sound and the versatility that comes with having the whole set in the backpack.

Really Cool
It was pretty awesome and usable, I just don't like modelling and multi-effects processors too much, hahah.

I have brokn down and bid on a 500X on ebay. My main reason is because I ahte big pedalboards and all that cabling for effects and like to get as close to guitar--->ac30 as ossible, but a lot of gigs require more effects than I use on my own music be they cover bands or side-man stuff. But also as a dad I need a passable amp simulator to practice thru headphones when my son's asleep at night. I don't intend to use much (if any) amp modelling with my rig, but how's the amp modelling through headphones for rocking out at midnight without annoying the family????

I say broken down because I am rabidly anti-digital and have barely even owned much in the way of even digital delays and verbs unless they have a cool 80s or 90s lofi quality... even my TC G major didn't last long with me even though it sounded pretty undigital.

Why a HD500? - You can spot the very distinct threadle - You can spot the lighter sides around the switches making it more the 500 and not the 500X

Also, for Line 6, he says : "I love my POD HD 500 a lot! It has a great version of pretty much every effect out there. The layout is really smart. I can assign the control pedal any parameter. The helix started as the POD HD1000, then got renamed. In fact, the HD500 amp models and effects included in the helix as legacy effects, and still sound fantastic.
