Line 6 POD HD500 Review - Premier Guitar

premierguitar.com

The Line 6 POD HD500 impresses with its extensive array of amp simulations and over 100 effects, making it a versatile tool for guitarists seeking diverse tones. The HD modeling technology enhances tactile sensitivity, providing an authentic feel to the playing experience. While it excels in flexibility and is a great addition for multi-project musicians, it won't replace traditional amps entirely. Users should be prepared to tweak presets for the best results. At approximately $500, it offers significant value for those looking for a robust multi-effects unit. Ideal for those who embrace digital modeling and sound design.

positive

Line 6 Pod HD500

soundonsound.com

Line 6's POD HD500 impresses with its robust build, versatile connectivity, and a broad spectrum of amp models and effects, making it a worthy contender for both stage and studio. Its user-friendly interface and editing software facilitate easy customization, while the responsive amp modeling shines, especially when cleaning up tones. However, the lack of phantom power on the mic input and the flimsy power connectors might deter live performers. Nonetheless, this device successfully balances performance and practicality, offering solid value for guitarists seeking an all-in-one solution.

positive

Line 6 POD HD500 review on gear-vault.com

gear-vault.com

The Line 6 POD HD500 is a feature-rich amp modeler praised for its authentic amp tones and versatile effects, mirroring the warmth and dynamics of real tube amps. With intuitive controls and a user-friendly interface, it's great for both studio and live settings. However, it struggles with pristine clean tones, and some effects like the rotary and Univibe fall short of expectations. While it offers a comprehensive suite of features and effects at a competitive price, the sound may still carry Line 6's distinct digital fingerprint, making it less appealing to die-hard analog purists.

Review: Line 6 Pod HD500

loopinsight.com

The Line 6 POD HD500 is praised for its durability, versatility, and realistic amp modeling. It effectively combines an audio interface, amp modeler, and effects modeler, making it a comprehensive tool for musicians. Users appreciate its ruggedness and reliability, crucial for live performances. The HD amp models sound impressively authentic and offer extensive tonal control. However, the effects edit window in the software could be more user-friendly, with room for improvement in zooming options. Despite minor software drawbacks, the HD500 stands out as a robust, high-quality option for musicians seeking versatility and durability in their equipment.

PODHD500

I think Line6 PODHD500 is a very good effect processor and amp modelling/simulation for electric guitar. Almost all professional effect processors/amp simulation can do the work to get for instance harmonizers, delay, reverb, pitch shifters, distortion, amp models, chorus, phasers and so on, just as PODHD500 can. And i think PODHD500 has very fine HD modelling.

I enjoy using this device. It's great for fly dates. The tones are great and the effects cover just about anything you can dream up.

It's good .Those Line-6. but I only have an M-6 guitar multi processor so I can't say anything about this model.

gary_x_wei

Really Cool

It was pretty awesome and usable, I just don't like modelling and multi-effects processors too much, hahah.

carlos_bacca

Brilliant tone and handy at stage

you can get a hundreds tone by this gear..from early rock music to this modern Metal and agressive metal tone..

iamgraysonsmith

Great but cant get the right tones

love this but i never could get the tones from the digital

jimmarchi1

I have brokn down and bid on a 500X on ebay. My main reason is because I ahte big pedalboards and all that cabling for effects and like to get as close to guitar--->ac30 as ossible, but a lot of gigs require more effects than I use on my own music be they cover bands or side-man stuff. But also as a dad I need a passable amp simulator to practice thru headphones when my son's asleep at night. I don't intend to use much (if any) amp modelling with my rig, but how's the amp modelling through headphones for rocking out at midnight without annoying the family????

jimmarchi1

I say broken down because I am rabidly anti-digital and have barely even owned much in the way of even digital delays and verbs unless they have a cool 80s or 90s lofi quality... even my TC G major didn't last long with me even though it sounded pretty undigital.
