Description
The Marshall DSL40C (modified) plus WGS ET65 speaker is a powerhouse combo amplifier that caters to musicians who crave both classic and contemporary tones. This versatile amp is a step up from the standard DSL40C, featuring a WGS ET65 speaker that provides a rich, full-bodied sound with enhanced clarity and warmth. Whether you're chasing that iconic British crunch or aiming for modern high-gain tones, this modified beast has you covered.
With its all-tube design, the DSL40C offers pristine clean tones and fiery overdrive, embodying Marshall's signature sound. The amp's two channels—Classic Gain and Ultra Gain—allow for seamless switching between different tones, making it suitable for a variety of genres. The addition of the ET65 speaker upgrades the sound output, giving it a more balanced frequency response and a tighter low end.
Moreover, the DSL40C is equipped with a power reduction feature, allowing you to switch from 40 watts to 20 watts without losing the tonal quality, perfect for both stage performances and practice sessions. The onboard digital reverb adds a touch of ambiance, while the presence control and EQ options allow for further sound sculpting.

Great Amp After Mods
Stock, the Classic Gain was anemic and the Ultra Gain was bone crunching. After a few resister and cap mods, preamp tube changes, and a pair of Mullard EL 34 power tubes (like smooth power), to warm up the Classic Gain and cool down the Ultra Gain, and replacing the speaker with a Warehouse Guitar Speaker ET65, this amp loud and proud.

good call on the et65, its really does a good job copying an LDC celestion like were used in the early 800 series... like the Reapers they actually sound a little better than an old one and definitely sound better than the RIs.

Instant Rock Tone
Upon tuning on the amp for the first time and a quick movement of nobs, I got the perfect rock tone I've always been looking for, instantly!
