Limited tonal capabillities.
If you like high-gain stuff you should buy or another amp or pedals to boost it. It has the typical Marshall sound, but I prefer the Mesa's or Soldano's.
Preferred Settings + Usage:
Metallica: Gain: 10, Mids:0, Bass: 10, Treble: 8-10 (the one that sounds better for you). Boost it with dist pedals of with EQ.

Totally fine! (If you're a beginner)
The amplifier sounds nice but the lack of options annoys me. Just a reverb would do wonders for this amplifier. Unfortunately it has one, but on a different model of this amp :/ It's a perfect practice amp and the fact that you can use headphones is really nice! I would recommend getting a slightly bigger and better amp if you want to use this live... One that has a damn reverb setting. It really bums me the lack of reverb but hey! If you have a reverb pedal, all is fine! I suggest buying this if you're in this type of situation: Low budget, small apartment, you have roommates or neighbors that you don't want to annoy. Anyways, not bad, not great, passable.

An amp to practice at home or to start-up
I got this amp after I sold out a 120 watts transistor amp, just to practice with proper volume at home. The original idea was to buy a tube-amp but since this was on discount, I bought it. Sounds little boxy, the knobs tend to crisp now after three years of usage, is a transistor amp so sometimes is hard to push any feeling through it without much dynamics, but is good to practice and pushing hard to get a nice blues technique.
I also should mention, I was used to my big amp with reverb, then this one is without effect, just a drive channel. So, at the first time you have to tweak the knobs a little until you find your tone.

I have been using some effects through the clean channels and it sounds fine. It helped to do a kind-of wet/dry with the AC15.
