Timeless Craftsmanship, Rich Tone
When it comes to acoustic guitars, Martin has been a name synonymous with quality and craftsmanship for generations. We've long admired this iconic brand, and the Martin 000-15M certainly lives up to its legendary reputation.
The moment we unboxed the 000-15M, we knew we had something special. The all-mahogany construction immediately caught our eye with its rich, dark hue and matte finish. The guitar feels incredibly well-built, with no noticeable imperfections or shortcuts in craftsmanship. It’s relatively lightweight and sports a smaller body size, making it comfortable for extended playing sessions.
The 000-15M is a study in simplicity. It lacks any flashy inlays or unnecessary appointments, which we found refreshingly straightforward. The guitar arrived well set up right out of the box.
Playing the 000-15M is a sheer joy, thanks to its smooth, comfortable neck and excellent playability. The craftsmanship extends to every part of the guitar, making it easy to see why Martin guitars are held in such high regard. That said, we did have to make a couple of minor adjustments to the action and truss rod to fit our playing style perfectly, but these tweaks are par for the course with any high-quality instrument.
But let’s talk about the most important aspect—sound quality. The 000-15M delivers a rich, warm, and balanced tone that is both unique and versatile. Whether you're strumming or fingerpicking, the guitar offers clear, articulate notes with superb sustain. While it may not be as loud as some larger Martin dreadnoughts, its clarity and tonal complexity more than make up for the reduced volume. The balanced volume across all strings is particularly noteworthy, making it an excellent choice for recording without much need for EQ adjustments.
The bottom line? The Martin 000-15M is perfect for musicians who appreciate quality craftsmanship and a warm, balanced tone across various playing styles. It's equally at home in a studio setting or a small acoustic set. However, if you’re looking for a louder guitar for large venues, you might need to look elsewhere or make some modifications. Despite its higher price point, we believe the 000-15M is worth every dime for the quality and sound it delivers.

Just my sound. And the looks!
So I saw some of my biggest idols play this guitar, eg. Chris Martin of Coldplay and Dallas Green of City And Colour, and I've always loved the looks of the dark brown mahogany with the satin finish. But it wasn't until I actually bought the cheaper version by "Sigma Guitars", that I realized, it was just what I needed soundwise as well. I got it in summer 2013 and it hasn't left my side ever since. As a result I've also become a huge Martin Guitars fan in general. My next adventure is gonna be the same one as a dreadnought, the D-15M.

The middle-class musician's acoustic guitar.
Light weight, beautiful, and definitely a Martin. Affordable price relative to great sounding acoustic guitars. Pairs great with an LR Baggs Anthem Acoustic Pickup.
Incredible Little Guitar
I went into my local guitar center time after time, and I found myself picking this guy up every time I went in. Sounds great, and it plays better than any acoustic I've ever played. I'd highly recommend it.

Excellent workhorse
As an all mahogany guitar should sound. Would have been better off against the road with some simple binding.

At 17.58 onwards Ben talks about his Acoustic guitar of choice after playing Takamines for a while. His has some pickups put inside.
“I was writing with a guy named Luke Potashnick [Rooster, lots of sessions, The Temperance Movement – Ed] ] who’s an amazing guitarist,” she explains on how she came by the guitar. “I was going through his guitar collection and his Martin, as soon as I was playing it, I was thinking, ‘This is just ridiculous’. So he put me in touch with Martin in the UK. I tried a few guitars and I chose the 000-15.
“I just loved it. It’s small, but the sound is really warm without being too bright. Tom [Crouch, Aplin’s guitarist] hates me because I never change my strings. I like them sounding old and dead... but without sounding too, um, s**t! [laughs]. They’re not too flouncy or pretentious; just beautiful. And now I have two.” - via Music Radar
About her 000-15M June said to Marin's website: “Having the support of the best acoustic guitar company that's over 100 years old is really an honor. It's lovely to be a part of the Martin Ambassador Family because I consider my guitar to be one of my most valued family members. I rarely leave my house without having it beside me!“
In this live Sideshow Alley session of "Don't Let the Sun Steal You Away", Andrew is seen playing a Martin 000-15M.
In this article, Barnes Courtney talks at length about his Martin 000-15M.
It's a really nice guitar. I've been kind of going back and forth between that one and a Gibson Hummingbird, but I think, you know, sometimes Gibsons can slip out of tune quite quickly. And although I love the deep, rich tone of the Hummingbird, I do like how reliable that Martin is — I mean, you've seen how beaten up it is, right? It's just ab-so-lutely f*****d! (laugh)
And it still holds its tune. I'll put that thing on a plane and have to get it put in the hold and forget to loosen the strings, and it'll come out the other side still in tune. It's just really, really good.
