  • 100 watts of headroom ensures clarity between notes

  • Built-in spring reverb adds depth to the sound

  • Smooth tone from the dirty channel, ideal for rock

  • Can achieve a wide range of sounds with pedals

  • Notably loud, suitable for big venues

CONS

  • Heavy and cumbersome to transport

  • Might be too loud for smaller venues or home use

  • Some may find it lacks tightness with lower gain tones

  • Clean channel may be too dark for some preferences

Owner Insights

We analyzed real musician discussions from forums and Reddit to find what players love, question, and tweak about Orange Rockerverb MKII 100-Watt Tube Guitar Amp Head.

Features and functionality

  • The MKII improved the drive channel but compromised on clean tones, while the MKIII restored the clean quality and retained enhanced gain.

    Source
  • The effects loop in MKI might pose high impedance issues, a concern for some users.

    Source
  • The MKII's master volume does not allow full power tube saturation but does provide a phase inverter saturation effect, which differs from a true attenuator.

    Source
  • Owners find the MKII's master volume lacks fullness at very low settings, suggesting it's not ideal for bedroom levels without additional equipment.

    Source
  • The Rockerverb MKIII attenuator is effective at lowering volumes for home use but may require treble adjustments due to perceived tone changes at lower volumes.

    Source

Use cases and applications

  • Owners find 100 watts offers stronger low-end, beneficial for lone guitarists in trios needing extra bass presence.

    Source
  • The MKII may not be suitable for home use without attenuation; users suggest waiting for the MKIII with built-in attenuation for better home performance.

    Source
  • Owners suggest pairing the Rockerverb with Orange PPC212 OB or PPC212C cabs for better sound quality over budget options like Harley Benton.

    Source

Comparisons

  • The 50-watt Rockerverb may break up quickly on clean settings, suggesting MKI or MKIII for more "chimey" cleans.

    Source
  • The JHS Little Black Box in the effects loop can help achieve cranked preamp tones on the MKII at low volumes, though a Micro Dark might offer better bedroom sound.

    Source
  • Compared to other high-gain amps like the 5150 or Dual Rectifier, the Rockerverb offers a "fuzzier" tone and less tightness, though it can be tightened with an OD pedal.

    Source

Value and pricing

  • Spending significantly more on a new MKIII may not be justified over a used MKI, given similar core features.

    Source

Mods and upgrades

  • Some users consider using an external attenuator or pulling power tubes to manage volume on the MKII, though these methods have their drawbacks.

    Source

User experience

  • Owners report the MKIII can deliver tones from AC/DC to Slipknot, making it versatile for hard rock and metal, but its distortion character differs from Mesa Dual Rectifiers.

    Source
  • The built-in reverb on the MKIII is praised, particularly for its modern voicing and versatility across genres.

    Source

Setup and maintenance

  • The 50-watt version uses two EL34 tubes, reducing re-tube costs compared to the 100-watt version, which uses four.

The best amp i own

I have a Dual Recto and a Marshall JVM410 and both are goddam good, but both can get modulated to get the same tone, you can literally get same sound with these amps as any other like the ENGL powerball, the Ampeg V4BH etc. But what i really really love about this one is that it have its own voice, its own tone, it have soul, it have BALLS, the cleans are warm and cristal clear, and the high gain is brutal and face melting, and this amp is loud, loud, loud your neighbors will love you. The thing about this called boutique amps is that you get their own signature voice and im in love with this one

The Best Amp of the Era

In a sea of compressed over saturated thin mid-scooped sounding metal amps. This Machine stands out from the rest. The versatility of this amp is unmatched, with mountains of gain on tap, iconic mid focused tone stack, and a clean channel that is infinity sculpt-able to your desires.

Favourite amp. Period

This amp is the perfect amp for me. It's overdrive channel has that unbeatable 'near the point of breakup' sound when you dial it in that way. It can do real big sparkly cleans, and will also do huge disgusting Counterparts style heavy tones. You could do straight up old school blues on this, or you could play ridiculous high gain metal And it is LOUD. Real LOUD

Other than I have nothing to say as I just can't describe how good it is.
