Opcode Digitrax, OSC Deck II & Digidesign Session

soundonsound.com

While the OSC Deck offers significant advancements in digital audio production for its time, it suffers from notable limitations. Its inability to support multi-track recording beyond two channels and the lack of high-quality A/D and D/A conversion detracts from its overall potential. The software's editing capabilities, though non-destructive, are hampered by clumsy operations and poor synchronization features. Comparatively, other options like Deck and Session provide more robust functionalities and stability. While Digitrax shows promise, its underwhelming performance in EQ and basic editing tasks leaves much to be desired. In short, while the OSC Deck has its strengths, it ultimately falls short against its competitors, making it a less favorable choice for serious audio professionals.
