Description
The Roland CM-500 is a desktop GS/GM compatible digital synthesizer (editing via MIDI only) combining the CM-300 and CM-32L engines. The CM-300 engine is (aftertouch and velocity sensitive) 24 voice (multimbral), featuring an oscillator, a resonant low-pass filter, an ADR envelope, vibrato (with delay), portamento, reverb/chorus, 128 presets, 10 drum sets. The CM-32L engine is (velocity sensitive) 8-32 voice (9 part multimbral), featuring 1-4 oscillators (sample or resonant low pass filtered saw/square), dedicated pitch/filter/amp 5 stage envelopes, LFO, reverb, 128 presets, The CM-500 has a four-position switch on the back to select between LA synthesis, GS synthesis or a combination of both.
