Amazing!
I've bought this workstation in order to manage simultaneously sounds. The hammond is amazing, I love the jazz one, thanks to the possibility to change each bar. Actually, hammon wasn't a priority for me, but now I always add it to my production. Synth are amazing like all the Roland ones. Piano are so close to real piano, thanks also to all the parameters that can be changed.

Great Gigging Keyboard!
I've had this board for about a year now, and used it every week in a club setting with a classic rock band. The organ sounds are excellent, probably the best on the market next to the obscenely high priced (and overrated) Nord boards. The keys play well and sounds are easy to find and use. Lots of good meat and potato sounds for gigging live.
Cons: MIDI integration is really just awful. This keyboard was designed by Roland's organ department and not their synth department, and it shows. Effects also can't be separated on layered sounds, so for example a rotary speaker effect will affect both sounds in a layer of say, organ and piano. Not cool. But overall, you can make it work as a module if you're only going to use one sound with the other keyboard playing the VR-09 through midi.
Easy to quickly access high quality sounds
There are a lot of really great sounds and samples on this thing that I love! They are easily enhanced by the on-board effects. The distortion is surprisingly good - for the most part it doesn't get too harsh or brittle. The organ aspect is very intuitive and powerful but not really for me personally. My biggest gripe is when layering or splitting 2 sounds, most of the parameters only apply to 1 of the 2 sounds. I wish there was more control so I could add distortion, or perhaps adjust the release of both of my layered samples, not just one.

brief but informative!
Worth every penny, very affordable and packed with great features.
Great gig ready keyboard with tons of fantastic preset sounds at your fingertips, very easy to use right out of the box but also very customize-able if need be. Highly recommended for the novice or a seasoned musician..

Perfect for live work.
This synth will sit in your rig and be your goto keyboard for most of your live set. The Organ alone is second to none at getting you closer to those sounds you hear in your head. FX available at the turn of a knob. Superb.
Absolute Workhorse for a busy, travelling keyboardist...drawbars, Juno synth, rotary mod
I use the VR-09 to replicate combo organ sounds (Farfisa, Vox Continental, and the Ace-Tone)))
