Cakewalk A-300 Pro review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The Roland A-300 Pro impresses with its sleek design and robust build, making it a stage-ready MIDI controller. It boasts 32 keys and 45 assignable controls, including velocity-sensitive pads, which are ideal for synth tasks. The supplied software bundle, including Sonar 8.5 LE, adds significant value, justifying its higher price compared to competitors. However, its dynamic mapping functions are limited to Sonar users, and the pads' velocity response can be inconsistent unless hit precisely. Despite its premium price, the A-300 Pro's superior build and functionality make it a worthy investment for serious musicians.

Great All Around Controller

I've owned this controller for about a year now and it's definitely better than I had hoped for. The keys feel great and, like the pads, have aftertouch. The pads feel better than mpc pads to me as they have a good bit of resistance to them but not too much. My favorite feature tho has to be the Roland signature pitch/mod lever which, together with the great keys, makes great VSTis really feel like hardware synths.
