Critic Reviews

Roland: Octa-Capture USB 2.0, audio interface | Tape Op Magazine | Longform candid interviews with music producers and audio engineers covering mixing, mastering, recording and music production.

tapeop.com

The Roland Octa-Capture USB Audio Interface impresses with its compact design, robust build, and extensive connectivity options, including eight mic preamps and versatile I/O capabilities. The intuitive controls and user-friendly software make it a standout for both studio and portable use. Its transparent sound quality is ideal for intricate, layered compositions, though some might find the preamps initially underwhelming compared to more colorful alternatives. Minor gripes include the lack of input level meters in the software and the need for a more secure USB cable design. Despite these, the Octa-Capture's performance and ease of use make it a highly recommended choice for musicians seeking a reliable, portable interface.

Roland Octa-Capture review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

A sleek and impressive interface, the Roland Octa-Capture excels with high-quality inputs/outputs and a robust software setup that allows channel-specific routing and effects. The auto-level setup and built-in reverb are standout features, making it a versatile tool for both recording and live performances. Its build quality and comprehensive I/O options make it a reliable choice for serious musicians and producers. However, the relatively high price tag may deter budget-conscious buyers. Overall, the Octa-Capture is a worthy investment for those seeking advanced features and high performance in a compact package.

Good for what it needs to do

Solid compressor, the auto sens is easy to use and the 8 pickups make it good for a producer or small band set up. Relatively good price too!
