Don't believe great reviews
This mic is hyped in the high end. It's tinny. It's sibilant. It's not the worst chinese mic i've heard, it's good compared to most of the 2000s chinese mics (but those were hardly better than a computer gaming microphone)
If you've ever used a great mic, and then use this mic, you will agree this is crap on vocals and most everything. It used to be way overpriced but now it's not too expensive. Get a rode NTK if you want a cheap tube mic if you don't need the patterns. It's better.
I don't know why I still have this.
I use a home built AKG C12 clone that is beyond words. Picture an angelic choir singing at the beginning of the universe when all that star stuff was still all gooey and warm. The Sterling Audio ST69 is the opposite of that.
It's ok on acoustic if you want a sharp bright biting sound out of a Martin. I'm sure it will be exactly what I need some day, so I keep it.
