Versatile and gig-ready dual drive

After getting into the Strokes and discovering their use of this pedal (the V1 in particular) I got the V2 used as my first drive pedal, and I've kept it to this day with zero regrets. It's a wonderful introduction to stacking drives, and each side offers a unique take on the drive sounds they attempt to emulate (the Jekyll being a TS808 clone and the Hyde a Shredmaster) with additional controls, such as a bass boost switch and a sharp/blunt toggle, enabling you to dial each effect differently based on the genre you're going for.

The Jekyll could be used as a boost to a cranked amp like how you'd use a Tubescreamer, but with the bass boost on and a bit of tweaking could also serve as a great base overdrive sound for a clean channel. The Shredmaster on its own gets you a Marshall sound; you could dial in some punk (think 90s Green Day), but it works best for replicating Jonny Greenwood's distorted tone as he uses a Shredmaster, which is what this circuit emulates. The pedal works best with both sides engaged, using one side as your base sound and the other a boost, and the Strokes really proved this.

My only caveat is its size, which could occupy too much space on a pedalboard build, but I'd much rather have two pedals in one enclosure than two pedals taking a bit more space and using an additional power cable. All in all, the Jekyll and Hyde is a very versatile pedal, with plenty of range on both sides, and I could not recommend this enough to anyone who's just getting into stacking drive pedals.

Great drive pedal. Built like a tank.

This pedal has been a go-to for me for years. I had one, sold it, bought the Son of Hyde, then bought another one of the J&H. It's the only distortion I care to use.

The distortion side can go from mild distortion to high gain metal stuff. Still maintains clarity though.

The Overdrive side is pretty good, not as versatile to me, but still great!

Great pedal. Great sound, but it's design is quite 'awkward'.

I love the sound of this pedal. Aspecially the overdrive sound is very nice (It sounds more Tubescreamer like). I also own the V3 of the Jekyll and I think this overdrive side is better than that one of the V3 (but that is of course a matter of taste). The design of the V3 is though much better. The size and shape of the V2 is (just like the V1) not my kind of stuff. There is a big 'bump' above the controlknobs. When you have a pedalboard with a pedal above the V2, this bump isn't very handy at all. Sound 5 stars (I really like the distortion side as well) but the design is a bit clumsy, so 4 starts for the complete pedal.

Nice tone! super versatile OD+Dist Pedal

I use the OD for riffs at low drive mid volume & mid tone, and just love it. The bass boost switch gives you the weight a good riff needs and you dont need any high gain at all. Dist is nice too. Use it for licks & mix it with OD for solos.

Tube Screamer + distortion

Tube Screamer part is my favourite overdrive. Distortion part is a little annoying, but has it's place.

One of the most useful and versatil Distortion pedal

Versatil and clean. You can set it to a clasic overdrive, or a clasic distortion sound, but you can also get a perfect modern tone. Like Metal or indie.

Good budget dual OD

The Jekyll (tubescreamer) side is really excellent for crunchy rhythm tones. The Hyde side kinda sucks on its own, but sounds great stacked together
