Description

Unleash the beast of your music with the Dunlop JP95 John Petrucci Signature Cry Baby Wah. This wah pedal is the love child of prog metal legend John Petrucci and the Cry Baby design team, embodying Petrucci's relentless pursuit of the perfect wah tone.

This pedal is no mere replica, but an enhanced iteration of Petrucci's Cry Baby Rack Wah system. It promises to deliver an expressive range that Petrucci himself describes as "huge and badass like an angry, screaming monster". Whether you're shaping single notes or manipulating heavy, growling chords, this pedal has got you covered.

The pedal comes factory set to John's personal settings. It features all the internal controls he used to find his Cry Baby voice: Volume to add gain, Q to shape the width of the effect, and a 6-band EQ to shape the tone of the wah sound, from 100Hz to 3.2KHz. But don't just settle for John's settings; feel free to tweak away and fine-tune the sound to your own preference.

The JP95 is not just a powerhouse of performance, but also a work of art. Encased in a sturdy, road-ready housing with a custom smoked chrome finish and JP shield logo tread, this pedal is as much a visual statement as it is a sonic one.

Great wah pedal for hard rock/ metal

One of my favorite things about this particular pedal is the EQ sweep. The definition in the tone is there. I do not have the powerful rig that John has, but one of the things I strive for in tone is the ability to have an entire chord ring out with clarity, when I'm on higher gain. I've played wahs that lose that clarity, but not this one. This is definitely geared toward a metal player (when the settings are at factory default), but there is an ability to customize the tone to whatever a player needs it to be. However, I just leave it on the default settings, and that works fine for me.

in this gear gods video Tony shows of his live rig. He shows that he uses a Dunlop Petrucci wah. He switched to this wah after using the zakk wylde wah for so long. The switche was because he prefered tone of the jp wah over the wylde. Tony claims the JP wah has a better sweep than the Wylde wah.
