A Versatile Workhorse

This guitar has been my workhorse for the past 6 years. After some slight modifications, it's the perfect tool for on stage and studio work. The standard pickups are not as hot as I'm used to but over time I have grown to appreciate it. With its excellent build quality and its reliable nature, I would recommend this guitar to anyone looking for a versatile workhorse. The oversized head is a bonus.

Replace the pickups and you'll never get a better guitar!

This guitar is the best one trick pony I have ever played! Replacing the bridge pickup with a Dimarzio Super Distortion hum bucker it has unlimited crunch and tone for days! I love the body routs, this guitar sits so well when playing!

sholt405

Best Telecaster I've ever had

It's a standard 72 Fender Telecaster Deluxe reissue from Mexico, but I put a TV Jones Classic in the neck and a TV Jones Classic Plus in the bridge.

dcc28

The Best Workhorse

I got one of these last July and have not been able to put it down ever since. I run it through a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe at Church and it sounds pretty good. I play everything from Jazz to Metal through it and it sounds awesome!

D

Mine is actually in Olympic White, and a '74

It's all about the Seth Lover Wide Range Pickups - not as thick and Muddy as PAF's, plenty of bite....for those who think Les Paul's are a little too 'Slash'......a great guitar

neri493

"I bought this guitar on April 17, 2003: the first time I used eBay. It was the most expensive object I'd bought in my life. I'd been after a Telecaster for years – I'd seen one in a guitar shop when I was a teenager and had never seen another. Then I heard about this website where you could buy stuff, and I figured I might find one there. I couldn't believe how cheap it seemed at first – just over a hundred quid. I didn't realise that there would be a flurry of bids at the last minute until I watched the seconds counting away as the guitar quickly doubled, tripled, quadrupled, and quintupled in value. "Ah, fuck you all," I thought, and typed in my second and last bid of £666 with seconds to go. There. I'd won. Bollocks. How could I afford that? It was fine. I just didn't pay my rent that month. I've played the guitar ever since."

Daniel Johns has utilized his Fender Telecaster Deluxe '75 in natural finish with a black pickguard and numerous stickers throughout his career. An image circa 1995/96 shows him playing this guitar during the Frogstomp era. He increased its use during his time with The Dissociatives, particularly for songs requiring a capo like "Forever and a Day." He also employed a black version of the same model for songs not needing a capo. Starting with the Wave Aid show in 2005, his black Telecaster replaced his '61 reissue SG for songs in E standard. The natural Telecaster was used for capo songs such as "If You Keep Losing Sleep" and "Those Thieving Birds," while the black Telecaster was used for E standard songs like "Ana's Song" and "Reflections of a Sound." Post-Silverchair, the black Telecaster is the only guitar from that era he has used live during shows promoting his solo album "Talk." Daniel has stated that his Telecasters are some of his favorite guitars.
