Critic Reviews

FC-05 Modulation Review: It is useful, has enough weirdness to keep you interested, and... | Flamma Innovation | Guitar Effects | Reviews @ Ultimate-Guitar.Com

ultimate-guitar.com

The Flamma FC-05 Mod Pedal offers an impressive range of 11 modulation effects, with some standout sounds like the phaser and tremolo, making it a fun addition to any pedalboard. However, its limited scope in sound customization and durability issues—like intermittent power connection problems—raise concerns. While it delivers decent quality for its $40 price tag, it may not satisfy those seeking extreme versatility or longevity. Ultimately, it’s a budget-friendly utility pedal that shines in specific settings but falls short in others.

Flamma Innovation FC-02 Reverb and FC-05 Modulation Pedal Reviews – Guitars For Idiots

guitarsforidiots.com

While the Flamma FC-05 Modulation is a fun and versatile pedal offering 11 modulation effects, it falls short in sound quality, with some effects feeling redundant or less musical. The FC-02 Reverb, on the other hand, is deemed underwhelming, providing average performance with barely distinguishable modes and a muddy tone. Both pedals are fairly sturdy for their price point, but the FC-02's lack of compelling sounds makes it less appealing for serious musicians. Overall, the FC-05 shines in practicality, but both pedals leave room for improvement.

Great little pedal for the price, many useful settings.

It's small and it's cheap, and it does the job. There are quite a bit of all sorts of digital effects onboard, you may like some and dislike some. Compared to other multi modulation digital pedals this one sounds decent. I love the autowha, the tremolo is right on the money, the bit crusher is also good and some weird liquid dripping sounds are also useful if you want to sound kinky. Overall most effects are great and with three knobs you can adjust many setting to your liking. And it looks great with that lime green finish. Better than most of those Aliexpress mini wonders.

Now let's talk about the bad things. First, sometimes it won't turn on. The solution in my case is to unplug the power supply, it starts working as you plug it back. But it's not happening often. Also, some effects are noisy, but there's some sort of built in noise gate so it shuts itself if no signal is at the input. Several effects have gain bump, for instance the autowha is very cool for solos and such, but I've had gigs when it would start feeding back like mad when I tried to turn it on.

Overall I like it and it's on my board for already couple of years. It works on both guitar and bass.

Preferred Settings + Usage:

The tremolo is very authentic sounding, I was doing 50's covers with that pedal and it sounded just right. And the autowha has that cool mid boost for soloing.

Does the job but digital sounding

I got this pedal to get some modulation on my small board. The trem, vibrato, chorus, and phaser get the job done. Some of the others are either too weird for me or sound super digital (especially rotary, unfortunately). But for $40 it is definitely good enough for around the house.

Preferred Settings + Usage:

Tremolo, Vibrato, Chorus, Stutter, and Phaser are usable. The rest are fine.
