Greenchild G777 Review - Premier Guitar

premierguitar.com

The Greenchild G777 Dual Overdrive offers a unique blend of two isolated gain stages in a compact, durable design. Its standout feature is the treble-rich gain, which might not suit everyone's taste but can be a boon for those with darker-sounding setups. The dual EQ sections provide flexibility, and the pedal's build quality is commendable. However, its bright and compressed tones may not appeal to those seeking warmer, vintage-style overdrive. Overall, the G777 is a high-quality pedal that shines in the right context, making it a compelling choice for players who appreciate its distinct tonal characteristics.

G777 = Incredible x 2

OD’s are my go-to foot fetish if you will. With the G77, I hit a sweet spot that holds it’s own against my favorite setup: stacking a Hot Cake and a Cult Germanium. The first time I got wind of Greenchild was via the Guitar Geeks podcast in 2016. Their praise of the G777 sent me searching. Their enthusiasm was well placed. Once acquired, I found the anodized box to be just as inspiring as they claimed. Low-noise. Touch Sensitive. Flexible. Elegant & ergonomic form factor. Quality all the way. Best of all, it sounds great! ~m
