Critic Reviews

HeadRush MX5 review | Guitar World

guitarworld.com

The HeadRush MX5 is a potent, compact powerhouse that effectively streamlines your pedalboard. Its intuitive 4” touchscreen simplifies patch editing, and the assignable expression pedal enhances versatility. While it excels in amp modeling and offers robust recording capabilities, it falls short with footswitch control, limiting complex chains to just three effects. Despite this, the MX5's competitive pricing and impressive sound quality make it a worthy addition for players looking to consolidate their gear.

HeadRush MX5 Review - Premier Guitar

premierguitar.com

The HeadRush MX5 is a compact powerhouse that delivers impressive sound quality with a user-friendly interface, perfect for guitarists on the go. While it excels with its amp emulations and modulation effects, some low- and mid-gain dirt sounds fall short, lacking nuance. Its portability and robust features, including a built-in expression pedal, make it a great value at under $400. However, a more rugged build would enhance its appeal. Overall, the MX5 stands out as a versatile option for those seeking a portable all-in-one solution without sacrificing sound quality.

HeadRush MX5 review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

Compact, powerful, and user-friendly, the HeadRush MX5 stands out with its impressive amp emulations and integrated expression pedal, making it a great addition to any pedalboard. While it excels in sound quality and ease of use, it falls short with fewer effects compared to competitors, and the limited footswitches can hinder live performance flexibility. For players needing complex setups, this might be a trade-off. Overall, it's a worthy investment at an affordable price for those looking to streamline their rig without sacrificing tone.

Great Pedalboard

This thing has so many features built into and even doubles as a soundcard allowing you to record from it into your computer. Very compact and you can't beat it for the price.
