Introducing the Boss DD-3T Digital Delay, a modern reimagining of the legendary DD-3 pedal that has been a mainstay for musicians around the globe since 1986. Known for its crisp, clean delay tones and straightforward interface, the DD-3T retains the beloved sonic character of its predecessor while adding new, user-friendly features to cater to today's musicians.
The highlight of this pedal is its tap tempo function, allowing you to define your delay times with precision by tapping a footswitch to the beat of the music. This addition makes it simple to synchronize your delay effects with song tempo, ensuring a tight, rhythmic sound. The DD-3T provides the option to tap in using the built-in switch or by connecting an optional FS-5U or FS-6 footswitch to the external tap jack.
Despite these new features, the DD-3T stays true to its roots, keeping the same intuitive controls found on the original DD-3. Nice and simple digital delay but not much else.
This is a rather simple but great sounding digital delay based on the legendary DD-3 from the 80’s. Unlike the DD-8 however this pedal doesn’t really do anything else, and it being a digital delay doesn’t really make it have any special textures and quirks to its sound like the DM-2 has which is also another simple yet very unique analog delay pedal from Boss. It’s also almost the same price as the DD-8 which is nuts.
Great if all you want is a simple digital delay but it’s hard to recommend when pedals like the DD-8, TC Electronic Flashback or EHX Canyon exist. Moreover, the DD-8 has both the standard and warm settings which are both digital and will probably end up sounding equally pleasing to you. Overall, it’s still far more crisp and detailed than many other digital delays like a bunch of Line 6 DL-4 (MK.1) delays and the RV-3 (might get hanged for this one but had to say it).

It's a pretty boring digital delay, in general it lacks any character. However, there is one redeeming factor... You can get some cool noises and glitch effects using the loop function.

Easy robust budget friendly digital delay for standard using!
If you look for an really uncomplicated, robust and budget friendly digital delay for standard using you can´t go wrong with the Boss DD-3T. The 3T finally adds the tap tempo function for playing with other instruments. But there are some opponents on the market at the same price range who are offering more sound flexibility. Boss is offering an alternative with the not much more expensive DD-8. In the end it´s up to how you want to use it.
Built clean and robust, simple operating, tap tempo option, original sound quality, soundwise and functional limited.

Iconic and simple to use delay thanks to tap tempo.
I use this on bass for more experimental sounds, does the classic digital delay thing of course, but I really dig that hold loop mode. I can use it to solo over drones or I can sustain a note with it and create almost divebomb and dimebag squeal effects with it by speeding up delay time whilst holding it down.
